Larkin and Lacey Frontera Funds Helps and Supports Migrant Rights Organizations

There are many different kinds of atrocities happening on people across the globe, and while there are human rights and nonprofits organizations trying their best to reach out and support these people, the struggle continues. Some people in such situations are fortunate to get the help in time while others just keep waiting, but the help never reaches.

Millions of people have died and continue to die in the ongoing war and conflicts across the globe, particularly in the middle east. The problem of terrorism has also engulfed many different regions on the planet, which is costing thousands of lives each year.

Many different organizations are trying to highlight these issues on a global scale that people become more aware of the problems that are manifesting in our society profoundly.

Some of the major organizations that are trying their best to reach out to the victims in the war-torn areas and to help the people who are suffering from human rights atrocities are Amnesty International, Protection International, Human Rights Foundation, United Nations Watch, Human Rights Watch, and more. Some of the organizations that are based in America and look out for local victims of human rights abuse are Lambda Legal, Earth Justice, American Civil Liberties Union, and more.

These organizations collectively try to curb violations of human rights by creating awareness, reaching out to the victims as well as trying to get justice for the victims, fighting legal cases against the culprits, educating and rehabilitating the victims as well as the abusers, providing essential supplies, medical treatment, and more.

In the United States, the people who are raising voice against such problems are many, but two of the most notable names are that of Jim Larkin and Michael Lacey, who co-founded Village Voice Media and Phoenix News Times.

Recently, they were also subject to the biased judgment of the police force, and they were arrested from their respective homes during the wee hours of the night by the Maricopa county sheriff Joe Arpaio. They were later released on bail, but the police couldn’t furnish enough valid reasons for their arrest.

Jim Larkin and Michael Lacey filed a lawsuit against the police, and the state eventually lost the legal battle in the court. Moreover, the state was even asked to provide the compensation amount of $3.75 million to Jim and Michael.

However, they took the number and made Lacey and Larkin Frontera Fund from that, which fights to protect immigrant rights, support migrant rights organizations, champion freedom of speech and expression, and other problems that have manifested in the society.
