Insurance Doesn’t Hold Up Contract
An insurance company is being sued by Bruce Levenson and the former Hawks ownership due to a breach of contract. Danny Ferry claimed “Wrongful Termination” and “Workplace Torts” by the Atlanta Hawks Basketball and Entertainment LLC(ABHE) and expected compensation. Unfortunately, the ABHE assumed that these claims were covered by their insurance AIG. They were not and ABHE had to settle with Danny without insurance money. Now ABHE is suing AIG because they did meet the expectations of the contract. AIG insists that the claims are not covered under the policy. ABHE is asking for the claim to be covered as well 50 percent penalty of the unpaid loss and attorney fees.
